The Christmas school holidays are soon amongst us for those that have not broken up already, and with Father Christmas due to make his appearance very soon, Children are no doubt going to be over excited and over stimulated, and besides them having busy and active lifestyles, with back to back festive activities and every gadget and gizmo going, there is absolutely no doubt the 'I'm bored's' are going to be heard, a LOT.
There are only a few Christmas movies the kids - and you yourself are going to want to watch, there are only so many times you can walk around looking at the pretty Christmas lights and decorations people have on display, and there are only so many times you can cope with hearing them two words ''I'm bored''. The good old phrase 'Santa will be here soon', wears off after a while and you frantically find yourself reaching for the tin of I'm going to lose my marbles!
With these Easy DIY No Bake Christmas makes, there's not as much mess unlike DIY Christmas crafts for kids, they're super easy to make, and budget friendly too because we all know how this time of year already empties the banks. They keep the children happy - albeit not for long, and it's something they can easily do themselves with little prep work needed from an adult, giving you - if you're really lucky, a 15 minute break - until they've had enough of these, and they'll be back to saying I'm bored in no time!
MINI DIY CADBURY CHOCOLATE YULE LOGS
I absolutely love a Yule Log, they're one of those things I can't buy though - because my son isn't the biggest cake or chocolate fan, and I'm left to eat the entire thing alone - not a problem per say, eating a Yule Log entirely alone is easily done over a good few days, it's just not so good for the health and figure, and there is only so long they stay fresh for once made or opened if shop brought.
With thanks to these wonderful and easy little makes though, now I can have my 'Yule Log' fix without feeling the guiltiness of wasting more than half of the log, or feeling like I'm going to explode and go to swirl heaven! Made using four easy ingredients: A Cadbury mini roll or another equivalent, Cadbury flake - I used the Flake 99's and made two Yule Log's using one mini Flake, a miniature amount of icing sugar mixed with water to stick the Flake in place and the tiniest sprinkle of icing sugar on top to give it that decorated Yule Log effect. Simple, adult friendly (I can vouch!) and absolutely delicious!
P.S - I know Cadbury's already make their own Mini Yule Logs - but these are DIY makes for the kids, and grown up kids - like me.
CHRISTMAS SHAPED FRUIT
If your children are anything like my boy, then they would prefer this option - the healthier and less sweeter option, over the first and the last yet to come. Of course fruit contains its own natural sugars, but compared to the other two easy makes contained within this post, this one is by the far the healthiest and without all the extra additives and who knows what else too!
With this one, some light prep work may be needed by an adult first, in terms of cutting down fruit such as melon/pineapple/watermelon/mango/apples/pears etc into manageable cookie cutter depth slices. This will help the children easily use the cutters themselves, avoiding the use of sharp knifes. Simply press and cut any desired shape fruit of your choice and voila - Christmas themed fruit, made easily, and a bit of fun for the children to participate in, and the cherry on the top - it's a great way to get children to eat healthier better too!
DIY Christmas Biscuits
This is such a great DIY fun activity to do and one that can be done all year round with any kind of theme. The great thing about this one is, you don't usually have to head to the shops for the bits needed - least not in my house you don't. Who doesn't have a biscuit of some kind? A little bit of icing sugar and whatever toppings you like!
For this one, me and my nephew had great fun using just two different types of biscuits to make a Christmas Pudding biscuit, a Reindeer biscuit, and two different types of Wreath biscuits. Made using just icing and different toppers this DIY no bake activity is simple, creative, fun and bound to keep the kids quiet - even if it is for 10 minutes!

There we have it, three easy to make No Bake Christmas makes that are perfect for children to do - or even us grown ups! I must admit making one of those wreath biscuits was quite therapeutic, both making it and eating it after - oops. Oh well, it is Christmas after all!
Until next time,
Jada x
