How are we into the third month of the year already? Time just seems to be going so fast, and I know I’m not the only one thinking so! Mothers Day in the UK falls on March 31st this year, so that's one event a lot of us will be allocating a certain budget too, thankfully Easter isn't until next month this year!
.
For March, it’s yet another financially difficult month for me, it’s Spud’s birthday month, and I’m sure as you know, as they grow the amount they get kind of grows too. So here we have my March’s 5 Money Saving Ideas!
1: Check Out Your Bills.
Are you on an expensive TV, phone and internet package? Or maybe you feel like your gas and electricity prices are too high? This month I plan to see if I can reduce my bills in anyway I can. My mobile phone is on a fixed contract so that’s something that can’t be changed, however I plan to look at every other bill to see if I can reduce them in anyway. Other expenses you can try and get better deals on are home, health, mobile phone and pet insurance.
2: Check Your Loyalty Cards.
Check out any loyalty cards you have to see if they can be useful in anyway. Can your Nectar points or Tesco Clubcard points be traded in for some money off, or have you saved up enough Morrisons More Points to get £5 off your shopping? Other loyalty cards worth checking are Boots and Superdrug, Paperchase, Subcard and Costa Coffee card.
3: Save Not Only Money But Time Too On Mothers Day Gifting.
Now is the time to be checking out supermarket deals for boxes of chocolates, bottles of wine and even pyjamas. As Mother's Day approaches, prices will start increasing as shops will know people need Mothering Sunday gifts and cards. By shopping earlier on in the month, you can not only save yourself money, but time too! There's nothing worse then going into a card shop the day before a big well known publicly celebrated event - believe me I've done that once or twice in the past.
4: Check Out The Freebies.
March is quite a busy month for me, I try and reduce my spending right down, so this month I'll be checking out the freebie and sample sites more often than usual, and I'll also be checking out the local free sites more often. There's even a free food saving app called Olio which people use to offer their unwanted food, so if you wanted you could even try and reduce your food spends too!
5: Check Out Cashback and Survey sites.
If you're already a member of these sites such as cashback sites like Quidco and Topcashback or survey sites like Swagbucks, Prolific or Toluna, then see if you have any points or money that are ready to withdraw. If you're not a member of any of these sites, then where have you been!? Check them out to save yourself some money without many changes to your day to day life!
That's it for this month folks, if you have any March money saving ideas please do leave them below as a comment! Don't forget to check back next month for April's 5 Money Saving Idea's.
Until next time,
Jada x
