Ahh good old fashioned marbles, I remember playing with them as a child, I remember getting them everywhere and losing half of them so I never got them again. When House of Marbles offered Spud a House of Marbles Reward Jar to review, I accepted on his behalf. Spud is such a good child (99% of the time) so he doesn't really need a reward jar as he's always being rewarded, but I thought it would be good for him to know that him being good is seen and acknowledged by me.
Inside the box is a plastic screw top tub, complete with a reward guide stuck to the inside of the tub and a plastic screw lid, a cotton draw string bag of approx 40 small marbles and at the bottom of the box was 15 medium sized marbles.
The Marble Reward Jar is by far the most unique reward system I have come across, the jar has a printed guide stuck on the inside, the idea is easy but fantastic. On one side of the sheet you have good, better and best, on the other side you have still early, keep going, doing good, almost there and amazing job (as seen in the photo above).
The cute little cotton draw string bag is the perfect size to keep the marbles in making it hard for a child to lose them, very handy indeed.
The beautiful marbles, on the left hand side you have the smaller marbles and on the right you have the medium marbles, all the marbles are different to one another, the best marbles I have ever seen, my flash interacted with the marbles but I think it looks better personally.
The idea is simple, quick and easy, when your child has been good or gets rewarded for something, let them choose a marble and pop it into the jar. I am personally keeping the medium sized marbles for when Spud has done something really good.
Wait until the jar is full and the reward your child with something new or a special treat like a trip to the cinema, or even a bag of new marbles from the House of Marbles online shop!?
I really do love the House of Marbles Reward Jar, I think it is fantastic for both good and naughty children.
As I mentioned above Spud is a good child so I do not need to encourage
him to behave good, however I do like to reward his good behaviour and he loves our new system! The marbles have took a right bashing as Spud likes to play with them, they have not chipped once, still looking brand new.
When I first discovered the House of Marbles I cant honestly remember how that was exactly, but I remembered how amazed I was at their wonderful products. I couldn't remember what marbles I had when I was younger but one thing for sure is they wasn't no where as pretty and unique as the ones the House of Marbles had!
Suitable for 6 years + the House of Marbles Reward Jar is available to buy from the House of Marbles shop or online shop for £8.99.
